Any interested ITAP student should have a solid working knowledge of Macs and Quark/Adobe software (Photoshop, etc.) and MacIntosh hardware, scanners, digital cameras etc. Also, it is important that the student is interested and engaged in the media. If you don’t like newspapers and newsrooms, this job is not for you. Working for The DePauw requires patience and teamwork. The Tech Editor must work with writers, editors, photographers, salespeople, and designers. Diplomacy is essential. Sometimes the pace is harried and the Tech Editor has to think quickly. This fast pace is also what makes the newsroom a fun place to work.
