The successful candidate will work independently and as part of a team to shepherd GIS projects, as well as to provide GIS support and expertise campus-wide.

Project Duration: Full-Year (Fall-Spring)
Intern Qualifications Needed: This project involves a relatively new, emerging technology, thus prior knowledge of Geographic Information Systems is not required. However any GIS familiarity will definitely be considered a plus. Also, although we may be using a variety of GIS software, the main package we will be working with is ESRI’s ArcGIS™ and its extensions. While existing knowledge of this or other GIS software is ideal, a willingness to gain expertise is acceptable. The Associate must be capable of gaining program expertise with minimal external assistance. In other words, the Associate must possess the discipline to acquire knowledge of the software by independently reading manuals and working through examples/tutorials. Finally, the Associate should have strong interpersonal skills, the capacity to take direction, the aptitude to take initiative, and the ability to work as part of a group as well as independently.
