Project Title: Career Services Intern
Student's Position Title: ITAP intern in The Career Center
Job Advertisement: The ITAP intern will help The Career Center use technology more productively in our day-to-day operations. We currently use technology in a variety of ways, some of which are outlined in this proposal. Some of the desired outcomes for this project include: • Help keep The Career Center web site current, attractive and easy to use. • Suggest and implement ways to make our web site more user friendly, especially from a student’s perspective. • Assist with publishing a monthly Career Center newsletter. • Generally help The Career Center effectively use technology in our day-to-day operations. This could include but would not be limited to: * Preparing PowerPoint presentations for our workshops. * Preparing videos to be accessed through our web site. * Entering, gathering, compiling and reporting of data (traffic in The Career Center and levels of activity). * Creating an Access database to better manage the different groups of employers with whom we work. * Career Services reports on e-services (menu driven).

Intern Qualifications Needed: Listed below are some “soft” skills we would like the intern to have: • Solid interpersonal and communication skills. • Dependability, reliability, punctuality and the ability and desire to meet deadlines. • Flexibility and the ability to adapt as the project progresses. Additionally, the intern should be familiar with or be able to learn about: • Web content and design. • Dreamweaver • Access databases. • Software specific to DVD publishing. • Other software applications that might be needed.
