Like many schools, DePauw is now faced with new opportunities to communicate and engage alumni by utilizing new technologies. The construction of the e-services data base for Development and Alumni Relations also gives us a wealth of data to utilize in those efforts. However, an initial investment in developing fairly standard tools would greatly enhance our ability to interface with alumni. The following represent what we would like to accomplish with the assistance of an ITAP Associate: • Assist in developing Flash presentations for stewardship and solicitation purposes. • Manage and enhance social networking outlets such as LinkedIn, Facebook and MySpace. • Produce reunion year communications such as DVDs and e-blasts. • Assist with the development and maintenance of an online community established to help alumni stay in contact with the University and each other. • Generate video vignettes of Annual Fund priority areas, alumni profiles and campus life updates for the Annual Fund Web page. • Maintain and enhance the general Annual Fund Web pages. |

| Intern Qualifications Needed: |
Many of the projects listed require the ability to design in a web environment at an intermediate level. At the time of hire, an associate should be able to update current web pages and have the ability to create new pages as needed to support our various program areas. Our projects tend to be technically and creatively challenging therefore a student with interests in both would be ideal. They should also have familiarity with video production and Flash, as well as YouTube, MySpace and Facebook. Our office operates within a Microsoft Office environment using primarily Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher and GroupWise. As you know the e-services database is a proprietary, Oracle-based system. An associate would not need to know how to program in the SQL, but would need to gain familiarity of the reports we work with on a regular basis in that environment which could be taught to them upon arrival.
