Project Title: Black Studies as a Knowledge Network
Student's Position Title: Technology Support Specialist
Job Advertisement: The intern will work with the Director of Black Studies to update the study of Black Studies at DePauw through the use of technology. In the process, the intern will help bring Black Studies, which is now 40 years old as a discipline, into the twenty-first century through the use of technology, the primary space along which revolution in learning, on an unprecedented global scale, is and will be taking place in the foreseeable future. It is a cutting edge project, The following are the basic goals of the project: 1. To bring Black Studies at DePauw into line with the twenty-first century through the use of technology 2. To link Black Studies at DePauw with its disciplinary colleagues throughout the US and abroad. 3. To promote digital scholarship in Black Studies 4. To build a cooperative research and knowledge network in the study of Black Studies. The project is directly related to the development and strengthening of the Black Studies Program at DePauw, bringing that program into line with other programs nationally and internationally It involves giving the program a future.
