361° at DePauw (361°) - 361° at DePauw is the overarching vision for information and instructional technologies at the University, representing the many programs that foster student & faculty use of computers & other digital technologies to develop the skills & languages they need to learn, live and work in an increasingly technological world. Now found in every aspect of campus life, in every building, in every academic and administrative department and in every residence hall, the 361° initiatives are helping DePauw refine and extend its historic strengths in the digital age.
IS Help Desk (Helpdesk) - The Help Desk provides technical support services to students, faculty and staff members in DePauw campus community. Services include answering questions and helping find solutions for computing problems; logging repair & installation requests for University-owned technology equipment in offices, computer labs & technology classrooms; resetting forgotten passwords to DePauw computing accounts; and referring your computing problem to appropriate campus IT experts if assistance from other people is required.
Community Technology Enhancement Program (CTEP) - CTEP promotes technology literacy and access in Putnam County. ITAP students provide computer hardware, software and training to underprivileged members of the region.
Digital Media Lab (DML) - The DML works closely with FITS, the Web Team, Information Services and other campus technology organizations to develop consistent and easy to use services for all faculty, students and staff. It provides high quality image processing, desktop publishing, one-on-one technology training and color printing.
Faculty Instructional Technology Support (FITS) - FITS provides consulting & technical support for faculty who wish to explore & develop uses of instructional technology in their teaching.
GIS Center (GIS) - The DePauw Geographic Information Systems Center coordinates GIS activities across campus so that information and knowledge can be shared and exchanged for the benefit of the entire DePauw community. It also collaborates with Greencastle and Putnam County communities to establish a relationship that benefits both DePauw and the surrounding region.
Information Services Department (IS) - Information Services coordinates a variety of IT support and resources for students, faculty & staff members in the campus community. Some of the services coordinated by IT include on-call technical support at the IS Helpdesk, professional development workshops & training opportunities, instructional technology support for faculty (FITS), workshops & technology support for students (START), media & user services (MUST), campus computer & equipment repair, administrative programming & services (eServices), and campus & student residential networking and server support.
Information Technology Associates Program (ITAP) - ITAP enables DePauw students to take advantage of technology and apply it to a liberal arts education. ITAP students spend an average of 8-10 hours per week in internship and training activities and every program participant has the option of experiencing an off-campus internship during his or her junior year.
Music Instructional Technology Center (MITC) - The School of Music includes the Music Instructional Technology Center, an advanced facility that includes a computer lab, audio production facility and mobile audio recording services. Some of the services provided by MITC are digital audio software and hardware training, audio recording and media conversion and team based support for instructional technology projects.
Student Technology Assessment, Resources, and Training (START) - START provides DePauw students with opportunities to enhance their technical skills by participating in workshops, web-based training, courses and one-on-one consultations. START consultants enable students to integrate technology into class or personal projects and are available to assist in the learning of new applications.
University Libraries (Library) - The four Roy O. West Libraries (Roy O. West, Prevo Science, the Music Library and the Visual Resource Center in the Peeler Art Center) offer a rapidly expanding array of digital collections and services.
Peeler Art Center (Peeler) - The art center is equipped for the use of technology in instruction in seminar rooms, classrooms, a computer lab, a digital video lab and a small auditorium.
Eugene S. Pulliam Center for Contemporary Media (PCCM) - The PCCM is home to media-related academic and extracurricular programs. It houses a television studio (home of the campus cable channel), a full print facility, darkrooms and a Creative Center with computing capabilities for Web design and desktop publishing.
Visual Resource Center (VRC) - Located in the Peeler Art Center, the Visual Resource Center houses a collection of 75,000 slides ranging from prehistoric to contemporary art in painting, sculpture, architecture, photography & the decorative arts. It also maintains a large collection of digital images available via Luna Insight. The VRC produces slides for DePauw faculty and students to contribute to the University image collection, assists in acquiring digital images to support course needs, and can assist in creating image galleries for class review.
Web Authors Portal (weba) - The Web Authors Portal is a resource for faculty, staff and students working on the official DePauw website.
