Putnam County Economic Development Partnership Fund

Facilitating economic development in the local community

Under its Opportunity Through Collaboration Program, DePauw University has provided seed funds of up to $20,000 per year as well as in-kind services and support to facilitate various economic development projects in Greencastle. Especially encouraged to apply for the matching seed grants were existing small to mid-sized Putnam County firms with projects that foster economic development or job creation.

Local community leaders, in conjunction with the Greencastle/Putnam County Development Center, worked to provide additional funding and in-kind resources to support ideas funded under the partnership fund. In evaluating successful proposals, the Putnam County Economic Development Partnership Fund (PCEDPF) sought sustainable business ideas that hold strong promise to create new businesses, jobs, or economic growth in Putnam County. The PCEDPF focuses on business proposals linked to the five key sectors of the economy highlighted by the Lilly Endowment: life science and bio-technology, advanced logistics, advanced manufacturing, information technology, and capital development.

The Opportunity through Collaboration Program is supported by a generous grant
from the Lilly Endowment.
