Training

There are numerous training options available to help students learn and review technical skills. This training may be used in any combination that will aid students in reaching their technical learning goal.

There are three main threads of service that START offers; one-on-one consultation, customized and course-specific training, and standardized training. Read more on each below.

One-on-one Consultation
START consultants are available throughout the school year in several key service points, including the digital media lab and computer lab in Roy O. West Library, the computer lab space in Julian Science and Math Building and Tiger Services in the lower level of the Union Building. Consultants are trained in several areas of technology use, including basic word processing, spreadsheet, and database use, web authoring, digital imaging, digital audio and video, information literacy, multimedia production and basic computer maintenance. START Consultant hours will be posted once hiring is complete at the beginning of each semester.
