TigerMail (GroupWise) 7 is Here!

DePauw's campus email system is now GroupWise 7.0. We will still refer to the Web Access version as TigerMail. More details on the newest versions of GroupWise and TigerMail can be found on the User Guides page. Groupwise icon

New Features:
- TigerMail has a new look & feel! Browser-like tabs, drag-and-drop and spell-checking
- New desktop client for Intel-based Macs
- New Windows client, with tabbed browsing and improved Calendar views!

What did NOT change:
• All DePauw e-mail addresses remain the same.
• Mailboxes have kept all messages; address books and calendar events will stay.
• All archive and proxy access rights were unchanged.

How to Upgrade to GroupWise 7

Recommended tasks before upgrading:

  • Consider archiving your e-mail messages to "clean out" your mailbox
  • Backup or delete items in "Trash"
  • Make sure you know Novell password, because after the upgrade that will be used from then forward to access your e-mail

1) PLEASE NOTE: GroupWise clients can only be Downloaded on campus!
To upgrade to the 7.0 client, download and run the appropriate version for your system:

Windows XP:

Intel-based and PowerPC-based Macs:
 
2) Logins will now use your Novell password.
3) All special accounts will lose their passwords in the move process and most be reset prior to being accessed.
4) Tigermail's URL address will still be tigermail.depauw.edu.
5) If there are any accounts that are accessed through proxy access, they will also need to be moved. Please let us know if you need anything done for proxy accounts.

Instructions for Non-GroupWise clients connecting to the new server:

This is for those using a program with POP/IMAP settings:

  • incoming : smtp.depauw.edu
  • outgoing:
    • When you're on campus: smtp.depauw.edu
    • When you're off campus: your ISP's mail server.  Some examples:
      • CCRTC: mail.ccrtc.com
      • Broadreach: mail.broadreach.net

** A reminder to non-GroupWise users: You will have to change your password to your Novell password in the email program that you use.

If you wish to install the new GroupWise 7 client, you can download it directly from the Novell website at http://download.novell.com/index.jsp. You can find the correct version by searching:
