Installing GroupWise for Macintosh Email Client

NOTE: GroupWise is compatible with OSX 10.3 and later. GroupWise 7 is compatible with both Power PC and Intel-based Macinstosh systems. Please make sure that you download the correct version for your system.

PLEASE NOTE: You can only download these programs while on campus. If you want to install GroupWiseon your home computer, you should obtain a copy of the TigerMail CDROM from the Help Desk.

1.  Download the correct file for your system: (.dmg file format)

Intel-based Macs:

PowerPC-based Macs:

Once the file is downloaded you should see an icon labeled Groupwise on your desktop. 

2.  Drag the GroupWise icon to the dock.

3.  Click the GroupWise icon in the dock.

4.  A "Novell GroupWise Startup” window will appear.  If the box says Password, click Cancel. In the Address box type pof.depauw.edu. (You only need to do this the first time. After that, GroupWise will remember this setting.) Type in your user id and your password for your e-mail account. Remember that this is now the same as your Novell password. Then click OK.

5.  When the Novell GroupWise window appears, select GroupWise from the top menu then select Preferences…

6.  Locate the archive directory textbox and click the folder to the right of it.  Navigate to the gwarchive directory (if this is a new installation, you may need to create this folder first.)

7.  Click once on the gwarchive folder then click OK, and click OK again.
