DePauw University Laptop Program

A core component of DePauw's success in incorporating technology into the fabric of the University is the Student Laptop Program.

The Program requires all students entering DePauw to purchase a designated Dell Laptop, Apple Laptop or HP Tablet PC and a designated Software Bundle through the DePauw Laptop Purchase Program.

We are excited to introduce the option of an HP Tablet PC for the Class of 2012. The HP Tablet PC is fully-functional Windows laptop and more. It has as an attached keyboard and looks much like a conventional laptop PC, but it includes a digitizer screen that enables you to write directly on the screen using a special pen (included with the computer). Key components of the program:

  • All students entering DePauw are required to purchase one of the Program laptop computers and a specific software bundle identified by the University.
  • The University has entered into partnerships with Dell, Apple, and HP to customize systems for our students.  The customization goes beyond the specific hardware, including a custom bundle of software and specialized support services.  This standardization helps bring equity to the students at large and helps faculty to more effectively utilize the technology in the classroom
  • The purchase of these computers is a transaction between the student and the chosen computer vendor.  The University has worked with Dell, Apple, and HP to provide a special custom store for the purchase of the required computers.  Purchasing Your Laptop

  • We require that students purchase the specified Dell Latitude, Apple laptop, or HP Tablet PC and the required software bundle by the start of fall classes.
