- What
if I would like to bring siblings to the study?
If you have other children, you should feel free to bring
them with you to the center. When we are doing the study with
you and your infant, your other child can stay in a room next
door with a trained staff member.

- Is
the study safe?
All of the studies conducted at The Infant Discovery and Emotion Lab are absolutely
safe. We are interested only in how infants behave under normal
circumstances. Thus, we do not use physiological equipment or
impose any situations that may frighten your child. For our studies,
we try to encourage the babies to be as attentive and content
as possible.

- Can
I stay with my infant?
Parents will stay with their infant the entire time; there are

- What
if my baby is fussy?
As any parent knows, babies sometimes become fussy. If this occurs
while visiting The Infant Discovery and Emotion Lab, we will simply take a break
and allow you to comfort your child, and we will not continue
the study until the child is ready.

- Can
others come with me?
Another person is welcome to accompany you to the study. We would
just ask that they watch the study from the adjacent room through
the observation window.
