Roy O. West Library

The Roy O. West (main library), is located between Harrison Hall and Asbury Hall, and houses collections in the humanities and the social sciences.  Resources include:

Archives & Special Collections

Archives & Special Collections, located on the 2nd floor of Roy O. West Library, includes rare and historically valuable manuscripts documenting the origins of DePauw University and Indiana United Methodism. The DePauw collection includes:

  • nearly complete file of minutes of the Board of Trustees and Visitors from 1837
  • presidents papers from 1903
  • catalogs, bulletins, yearbooks, diaries, scrapbooks & more
  • faculty and alumni papers and biographical information

The United Methodist collection is composed of:

  • conference and district records
  • individual church histories
  • records of active and abandoned churches
  • ministers papers including diaries of circuit riding preachers.      more   


Music Library

The Music Library, located on the main level of the Green Center for the Performing Arts, houses a collection of approximately 35,000 volumes consisting of:

  • musical scores
  • sound recordings & videos
  • books, journals, reference materials, & more

The Music Library supports instruction, research and the study of music for the School of Music as well as for other departments and programs.    more   


Prevo Science Library

The Prevo Science Library, located on the main level of the Percy L. Julian Science and Mathematics Center, supports the natural and physical sciences and houses:

  • books, videos & journals
  • reference materials & maps.

While serving the information needs of the entire DePauw community, the Prevo Science Library primarily supports the Departments of Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Geosciences, Mathematics and Physics.      more   


Visual Resource Center

The Visual Resource Center, located in the Peeler Art Center, Room 207, houses a collection of 80,000 slides ranging from prehistoric to contemporary art in painting, sculpture, architecture, photography and the decorative arts. In addition, the VRC rotates the following materials as new items arrive:

  • new books on art
  • new art journal issues

The VRC also maintains a database of digital images available via Luna Insight.    more
