Biographical Sketch: John Jakes was born in Chicago on March 31, 1932. He graduated from DePauw University in 1953 and took his M.A. in literature at Ohio State. He is the author of several books including a series of books titled The Kent Family Chronicles.
Scope and Content: The John Jakes Papers consists mostly of typed manuscripts of The American Bicentennial Series with the author's handwritten corrections. Also included in these papers are a book jacket and broadside for Love & War and English Seminar papers.
