Here’s how it works ...
• There are two parts: Part 1 is the quiz. It must be completed before beginning Part 2, which is the hunt around campus
Part 1, The Quiz
• Write your answers under the question
• Some questions include a hint or clue
• Answers are found in the resources available in the Archives and on the Archives web site
• A list of all resources is attached to the list of questions
• All print resources are located on the book cart in the Archives reading room
• Turn in your answers sheets in order to receive Part 2
• The entry with the greatest number of correct answers wins a prize (in the case of a tie, a drawing will be held)

Part 2, The Hunt
• In Part 2, you will be traveling around campus to various sites looking for answers to questions about DePauw’s history
• There is no prescribed order; you may travel to each site in any order you wish
• It is not a race, but be aware of the closing times of some buildings and that completed History hunt forms must be turned into the Archives by its 5:00 p.m. closing time

1. Roberts’ Marker: What are the first seven lines of the inscription on the marble obelisk and what is the Methodist Historic Site Number?
2. Memorial Student Union Building: A large framed photograph shows men pouring concrete during construction of the building. What is the tattoo on the left forearm of one of the men?
3. Studebaker Administration Building (closes at 4:30): Find the statue of the Studebaker children. What are their names?
4. Julian Science and Math Center: What is the name of the dinosaur skull on display here?
5. East College: Whose portrait shows a man with a long, red beard?
6. Lilly Center: In what year did Mary Washburn Conklin receive a medal in the Olympics?
7. Julian Science and Math Center: In what year did Percy L. Julian start Julian Laboratories? (Hint: Look for the Percy Julian alcove)
8. Near East College: What is the inscription on the Owl fountain/statue?
9. Roy O. West Library: An exhibit in the Library describes the Japanese connection to DePauw. Name the Japanese Methodist minister who worked with John Ing in Hirosaki.
10. Gobin Memorial United Methodist Church (closes at 4:30): Inside is a stained glass window with a picture of John Wesley. Also in the picture is a banner with a word on it. What is that word?
11. East College: Who painted former DePauw University President, Richard C. Rosser’s portrait?
12. Bartlett Alumni House (closes at 4:30): Who won the Old Gold Goblet in 1976?
