The Cicero Methodist Episcopal Church was organized in 1843. It first met in a private residence, then later in the schoolhouse. In 1854, a building was erected. As it prospered, many of the more progressive members began to talk of adding an organ. This caused much dissension among the older members. An organ was added, but after a few years a fanatic entered the church during a revival service with a sledgehammer, saying the Lord had commanded him to destroy the organ, which he did. The building was completely destroyed by the cyclone of 1880. As the town was beginning to build toward the east, it was decided to build in that part of town. An organ was placed in the church without question or objection. Classrooms and additions were built in 1960-61.

The collection consists of membership, probationers and baptism records; committees; Epworth League; financial material; Q.C. records; W.S.C.S.; Willing Workers minutes; bulletins; certificates; letters; Official Board; Sunday School Board; Industrial Society records; Universal Society records; and taxes and insurance.
