In 1888, a building committee was appointed and canvassing for money began. After the
building was completed, the name Cloverdale was chosen because it was located in a clover field.
It was dedicated on Sept. 23, 1888. The bell was moved from the belfry to the lawn in 1951. For
several years after its dedication, Cloverdale was on the Russiaville charge. Later it was
transferred to Forest, then to Hillisburg, then to West Middleton, then to Mt. Zion.
