What is 'Find it' (aka SFX) and how can it help me?
'Find it' helps you find out all the different ways you can get an article – whether it is available full text, in print at the library, or able to be interlibrary loaned
This is how it works
- Some databases will offer a 'Find it' button like this
next to the citation in the result list.
- Clicking this button takes your selected citation information, searches, and provides the following search functions:
- ... Checks for all available full-text options
- ... Shows print issues available
- ... Provides a link to borrow the article through interlibrary loan if full-text or print options are not
available
Here is a sample 'Find it' menu of choices for Art Journal
... What if there is no 'Find it' button available?
- If you do not have an 'Find it' button, you can still use 'Find it' to find out how to get an article, but you will have to enter your information manually in this form: (Enter as much information as you have available)
