Go beyond the page with the PROJECT Trio and innovative DePauw faculty in this weeklong intensive camp. Explore the many aspects of building a successful ensemble and 21st-century musicianship, including workshops and master classes in performing, composing, recording, improvisation, Dalcroze Eurhythmics, stage presence, and running your own business. Unlock your potential at this truly unique summer festival.
Each student will be part of a group that will develop and perform an original piece under the guidance of ProjectTrio.
This unique summer learning experience will focus on modern chamber music, using the Project Trio's F.I.R.E. Technique (Fundamentals of Improvisation, Rhythm, and Ensemble). With an emphasis on composition, memorization, performance, and extended techniques, participants will expand the repertoire of skills in their musical tool box.
Daily group classes, private lessons, jam sessions, and concerts are all part of a curriculum that will help enable students play in any musical situation and in multiple different styles. Drum circle sessions led by DePauw professor Eric Edberg will develop a sense of community and help students learn to be confident leaders. Nicole Brockmann's sessions in Dalcroze Eurythmics will introduce students to a healthy and liberating way of integrating the body and mind while making music.
After this camp, you'll truly be on the way to being a 21st-century musician!
