A member of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, Dugan was principal bass of the Hong Kong Philharmonic and the National Symphony of Costa Rica. He has also performed with the Australian Chamber Orchestra, the Shanghai Symphony, and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Dugan has held teaching positions at the University of Cincinnati, Indiana University, Ohio University, the Hong Kong Academy for the Performing Arts, and the Congress of Strings. He graduated with high distinction from Indiana University where he studied with Murray Grodner. Appointed 1985.
