Kara Stolle is principal bassoonist with the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra and is an active studio musician. In addition to her position as principal bassoonist and personnel manager with the Lafayette Symphony Orchestra, Kara has also performed as a baroque bassoonist with the Indianapolis Baroque Orchestra and as an extra musician with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. She received her bachelor’s degree in music performance from Butler University and her master’s degree from the Indiana University School of Music in Bloomington, IN. Her teachers have included Homer Pence, Charles Rader and Kim Walker on modern bassoon and Michael McCraw on baroque bassoon. Appointed 2002.
