Music/Performing Arts Librarian with rank of Assistant Professor
Misti Shaw holds a Bachelor’s in Music Performance from Oklahoma City University, a Master’s in Music from the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory, and a Master’s of Science in Library Science from the University of North Texas. Prior to DePauw, she served as the sabbatical replacement Music Librarian at St. Olaf College in Minnesota. She is a member of the Music Library Association (MLA) and serves as editor for the MLA Newsletter. She is also a member of MLA’s Emerging Technologies and Services committee, and the Web Advisory committee. She is active within the MLA Midwest Chapter and is a member of its Technology, Archives, Preservation, and Sound (TAPS) committee. Shaw’s research interests include innovation in bibliographic instruction, creating effective library assignments, and the music of minimalist composers.
