Director of Admission, School of Music
Patrick Evans joined the DePauw University School of Music in July of 2013. A native of Birmingham, Alabama, he was chair of the voice area and director of the opera program at the University of Delaware, where he was a tenured Associate Professor from 1994-2004. He was Associate Professor in the Practice of Sacred Music at the Yale University Institute of Sacred Music and was Director of Music for the daily ecumenical worship in Marquand Chapel at Yale Divinity School.
In demand as a lecturer, practitioner, and clinician in the field of sacred music, Evans is Artist-in-Residence at Broadway Presbyterian Church in New York City, a post he has held since 2001. He holds the Doctor of Music and Master of Music degrees in vocal performance from The Florida State University and the Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Music Education degrees from the University of Montevallo.
