Meet our new faculty member, Christy Holmes.

December 9, 2011

We're very excited to introduce Christy Holmes, the first ever DePauw faculty member with a full appointment to the women's studies program. Christy comes to us from Ohio State, where she  received her Ph.D. from the Department of Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies; her research focuses on the intersections between the cultural production and direct action work of Chicana artists, activists and scholars and ecofeminist theory. Her teaching interests include transnational and Chicana/Latina feminisms, ecofeminism and environmental justice, gender and development, feminist methodology and qualitative research methods.

now that she's here, we'll be able to offer more sections of Intro, and help out our majors by offering Feminist Inquiry, US Women of Color, and
and a new course on Environmental Feminisms she's developing for Spring. Soon there will be new courses on transnational and Chicana feminisms as well ... and watch this space for more to come ...
