#10 DePauw in Third after First Full Day of NCAC Swimming and Diving Championships

Canton, Ohio - After the first full day of competition at the 2012 North Coast Athletic Conference Swimming and Diving Championships, the 10th-ranked DePauw men totaled 329 points and are in third place. Denison leads with 498 points, while Kenyon is second with 486.

DePauw's 200-yard freetyle relay of Matt Bacinich, John Montgomery, Jack Burgeson and Alex Alfonso was third in an NCAA "B" time of 1:22.94 and the 400 medley relay of Casey Hooker, Matt Kukurugya, Matt Gleason and Montgomery was also third in an NCAA "B" time and school record 3:22.15.

Hooker finished third in the 500 free in an NCAA "B" and school record time of 4:31.49. Matt Haeske was 11th in the event in 4:40.05, while Robby Spichiger was 12th in 4:40.07 and George Morrison 15th in 4:46.87.

Gleason was third in the 200 individual medley in an NCAA "B" and school-record time of 1;52.92. Cameron Wiethoff was 13th in 1:57.13 and Dylan Klossner 16th in 1:58.92.

Montgomery was sixth in the 50 free in an NCAA "B" time of 20.90 seconds with Joe Hessburg finishing 10th in 21.36 and Alfonso 11th in 21.40. Bacinich was 12th in 21.49 followed by Burgeson in 13th in 21.53 and Andrew Nash in 15th in 21.79.

The top three in each event earn all-NCAC honors.
