DePauw Tied for Third after First Round of NCAA Championships

Angola, Ind. - DePauw shot an opening-round 314 and is tied for third after the first of four rounds of the NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championships on the Zollner Golf Course.

Williams leads with a 307, while Methodist is second at 310. The Tigers, seeded second in the Championships and ranked third in the latest coaches' poll, are tied with St. Olaf.

Paige Gooch and Kelsey Smith each shot 77 and are among nine players tied for 10th, while Taylor Beaty finished with a 78 and is tied for 19th. Kelly Gaughan is tied for 52nd with an 82, while Abby Dickey is tied for 64th at 83.

Georgiana Salant of Williams leads the field with an even-par, 72.

DePauw is making its 11th consecutive appearance in the Division III Championships and has finished in the top five eight times.

Play continues on Wednesday with the tournament concluding on Friday.
