Greencastle, Ind. - Bonnie Skrenta, who led DePauw to five appearances in the NCAA Division III Softball postseason in the last six years, has resigned to accept the head softball coach position at Division I Bucknell University.

"Bonnie has been a valuable part of the DePauw athletics team," DePauw's Theodore Katula Director of Athletics Stevie Watson-Baker said.

"She not only built a program to national prominence, but provided the student-athletes with an excellent experience."

Skrenta's teams posted a 280-127-2 record in 10 seasons including a 241-61-1 mark over the last seven.

She led the Tigers to increasing win totals in each of her first six seasons and, in 2006, DePauw established the school win record with a 31-10 mark.

The 2007 team broke that record with a 37-4 finish and earned the first of five straight Division III postseason appearances. That team won the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference tournament and finished tied for fifth in the nation after sweeping through the first round of the Division III Championship.

Skrenta's 2008 team won a school-record 40 games and lost just four to lead Division III in winning percentage. DePauw captured its first SCAC title that year and advanced to the final game of the Division III opening round. An SCAC title followed in 2009 as the Tigers finished with a 32-9 record before bowing out of the NCAA opening round in the final game again.

DePauw's 2010 squad matched the school victory record with 40 wins and finished in a fifth-place tie at the NCAA Championship. The 2011 team also finished in a tie for fifth at the Division III finals and captured the SCAC tournament title.

Skrenta and her assistants earned regional staff of the year honors three times in the last six seasons.

A national search for Skrenta's replacement will begin immediately..
