Tigers Ranked 10th in Final Division III Women's Poll; Gebert Ranked in Singles

Greencastle, Ind. - Following an 18-7 season, a North Coast Athletic Conference title and a trip to the third round of the NCAA Division III Championships, the DePauw women's tennis team finished 10th in the final Intercollegiate Tennis Association poll of the 2011-12 season.
Individually, Kelly Gebert (Wichita, Kan./Kapaun Mt Carmel Catholic) was ranked 33rd in singles after a season in which she advanced to the round of 16 at the NCAA Division III Singles Championship. She finished the season with an 18-15 mark in singles at the number-one spot.
Gebert and freshman Maggie MacPhail (Indianapolis/Park Tudor) were ranked 18th in the doubles rankings. The duo posted a 22-10 record as a doubles pair and earned all-NCAC first team honors.
In the final Central Region rankings, the Tigers were ranked second behind national champion Chicago. Gebert was ranked seventh in singles with MacPhail 12th. Gebert and MacPhail were the fifth-ranked doubles team in the region as well.
Gebert earlier was named the ITA Division III Central Region's Arthur Ashe Leadership & Sportsmanship Award recipient and MacPhail was the region's Rookie of the Year. Read more in an earlier release.
