#1 DePauw Women Blitz Battling Bishops to Move to 19-0

Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw shot 74 percent from the floor in the first half including a 7-of-8 performance from beyond the three-point line and extended its regular season win streak to 44 with an 85-51 North Coast Athletic Conference win over visiting Ohio Wesleyan at the Neal Fieldhouse.
The number-one ranked Tigers improved to 19-0 overall and 10-0 in NCAC play, while the Battling Bishops dropped to 5-14 overall and 4-6 in the conference.
DePauw scored on each of its first four trips down the floor in taking an 8-0 lead. The Battling Bishops came back with a 5-0 run of their own, but DePauw made 10 of its next 11 field goal tries to push the lead to 32-16.
The Tigers' lone three-point miss of the first half came when when DePauw inbounded with just one second on the shot clock and Erin McGinnis' try bounced off the rim. The Tigers took a 49-23 halftime lead to the locker room.
Ohio Wesleyan got as close as 23 in the second half, but DePauw quickly put the game out of reach with a 7-0 run.
DePauw finished the game with 55.6 percent shooting from the floor and the top three-point shooting team in the nation did nothing but improve upon that statistic after hitting 12-of-21 from beyond the arc.
Savannah Trees (pictured) notched a career-high 21 points after hitting all five three-pointers she attempted. Kate Walker and Alex Gasaway each scored 10 in the win. Walker added five assists and Gasaway had six rebounds as DePauw outrebounded the Battling Bishops 32-24. Kathleen Molloy paced DePauw with a career-high seven assists.
Sarah McQuade was Ohio Wesleyan's lone double-figure scorer with 11 points. She also shared the team's rebounding and assist honors with three of each.
DePauw returns to action on Tuesday, January 29, when it travels to Kenyon for a 7:30 p.m. game.
