Tigers Muddied By Carthage, Lose Home Opener

Greencastle, Ind. – The DePauw men’s lacrosse team opened up the home slate of their inaugural season against Carthage College, losing 28-2, on a muddy Lower Boswell West Field in Greencastle, Ind. on Saturday, March 9, 2013.
With the loss the Tigers drop to 0-3 on the season while Carthage moves to 4-1 with the victory.
DePauw senior Jack Glerum notched the first goal for the Tigers on an assist from junior Sam Johnson. The second-period score was the first of Glerum's collegiate career.

Additionally, Johnson tallied the first assists of his collegiate career and finished the game as the team-leader in points and assists on the season.
Midfielder and face-off specialist John Zupancic once again showed his grit, collecting a majority of the face-offs in the match. With his play in the center circle, Zupancic has staked his claim as one of the best in the North Coast Athletic Conference with his conference leading face-off winning percentage.
The Tigers return to action next Saturday, March 16, as they travel to Beloit, Wis., for a showdown with Beloit. The match is slated to begin at 1 p.m. Central.
