Granville, Ohio – The DePauw women’s lacrosse squad fought valiantly on a rain-drenched field in Granville, Ohio on Wednesday, April 10, before succumbing to the Denison Big Red, 20-4, in a North Coast Athletic Conference tussle.

Denison preserves their perfect, 10-0 (3-0 NCAC), mark with the victory, while DePauw falls to 4-3 on the season and 1-3 in NCAC play.

Three different Tigers scored the four goals as Natalie Swiler tallied a pair and Knubbe Kunz and Jamie Powell chipped in one each. Abigail Snively notched DePauw’s lone assist in the match.

Two Denison laxers registered seven points or more in the match, led by Carol Allen’s nine (4 goals, 5 assists). Erin Keller’s five goals was a team high to go along with a pair of assists.

Denison’s Grace Bodenmann picked up the victory for her play in the net, saving five shots while allowing just two goals through the first 44:15 of play. The Big Red’s Laura Campbell spelled Bodenmann, seeing action between the pipes over the last 15:45 of the game, allowing just two goals. Amy Clark was saddled with the loss for the Tigers after saving seven shots.

The Big Red outshot the Tigers 33-11 and controlled 10 more draws throughout the match.

The Tigers return to the field at Noon on Saturday, April 13, in a road match against Wooster.
