DePauw Men’s Lacrosse Falls To Oberlin

Greencastle, Ind. - The DePauw men’s lacrosse team fell to the Oberlin Yeoman, 20-3, in a North Coast Athletic Conference match on Saturday, April 13, at Boswell Field.
With the victory, the Yeoman picked up their first conference win of the year and bettered their overall record to 5-6. After falling to Oberlin, the Tigers dropped to 0-11 overall and 0-5 in NCAC play.
After being shutout by the Yeoman over the first three periods, DePauw picked up all three of their goals in the final quarter. Pierce Ellinwood, Michael Strader and Chris Deaver each scored one goal for DePauw while Sam Johnson assisted on Ellinwood’s tally.
Oberlin’s Nick Lobley notched eight points in the match, scored four goals and registered four assists, all game-highs.
DePauw’s JR Strubbe was saddled with the loss after saving nine shots in the match and scooping four ground balls. Oberlin played four different goalies during the match with Erickson Andrews starting in between the pipes and picking up the victory. Miles Brooke tended the net during the second stanza, saving two shots, followed by Josh Kasten’s shutout in the third period before giving Nathan Duletzke the opportunity in the final quarter.
The Yeoman outshot the Tigers 41-10 during the match and capitalized on 4 of 8 extra-man opportunities.
The Tigers return to Boswell Field on Wednesday, April 17, for a NCAC tussle against Wittenberg at 4 p.m. (ET).
