Tigers Fall To Fighting Scots

Wooster, Ohio - The DePauw women’s lacrosse team fell to North Coast Athletic Conference foe Wooster, 20-5, on Saturday, April 13, in Wooster, Ohio.
In defeat, the Tigers well to 4-4 overall and 1-4 in conference play while the Fighting Scots bettered their record to 10-2 on the year and 3-1 in the NCAC.
Against one of the best teams in the NCAC, the Tigers held strong early in the contest, trailing 4-2 midway through the first half. From there Wooster began to flex its muscles, outscoring DePauw 16-3 throughout the final 51 minutes of the match.
Natalie Swiler led the Tigers offensively, scoring three goals to lead the squad in points and goals. Carey and Knubbe Kunz rounded out the DePauw scoring by scoring one goal apiece. Carey Kunz and Jaime Powell tallied assists in the contest.
Wooster’s Clare Nelson-Johnson scored a game-high seven goals in the match, adding a helper on a Shelby Stone strike on the first goal of the game.
DePauw’s Amy Clark saved five shots while in net for the Tigers, picking up the loss. Isabel Perman blocked six DePauw chances en route to her 10th victory of the season while tending the net for Wooster.
The Fighting Scots outshot DePauw, 34-16, during the match. Additionally, Wooster was successful on 3 of 5 free position opportunities compared to 0 of 4 for the Tigers.
The Tigers return to the field tomorrow, Sunday, April 14, for a nonconference showdown at North Central (Ill.) at 2 p.m. (ET).
