Tigers Downed By Gators

Meadville, Pa. - The DePauw women’s lacrosse team traveled to Pennsylvania for the first time in program history to take on Allegheny, coming away with a 26-4 loss at the hands of the Gators on Saturday, April 20 in Meadville.
With the loss, the Tigers fell to 4-6 on the season and 1-6 in conference play while the Gators moved to 8-5 after the victory and 2-4 in the NCAC.
DePauw’s Natalie Swiler tallied a team-high two goals, moving her season total to 32. Jamie Powell and Elizabeth McCracken rounded up the Tigers scoring, netting a goal apiece. Powell registered the lone DePauw assist, feeding McCracken for the first Tigers goal of the game.
The Gators were led in the offensive zone by Kelsey Rodgers’ six goals, while Kelly Dickson added four goals and three assists. Additionally, both McKenzie Bell and Gusty Mead both tallied seven points in the game, each scoring three goals and dropping four helpers.
Allegheny’s Chloe Kedziora picked up the victory for her play in the net, making two saves in 30 minutes of play. Christina Perez subbed in for Kedziora, playing between the pipes over the final half of play, saving a trio of DePauw chances.
Amy Clark, DePauw’s goalie, was saddled with the loss, saving five Allegheny shots on goal.
Allegheny outshot DePauw, 36 shots to 15. Moreover, Allegheny controlled 18 of 30 draw controls during the game.
DePauw returns to the field on Wednesday, April 24, for their final non-conference match of the year as the Tigers welcome Mount St. Joseph to Boswell Field. The match is slated to being at 5 p.m. (ET).
