#11 DePauw Tops #13 Lynchburg in Overtime

Springfield, Ohio - Jamie Stoner's first collegiate goal with 2:37 left in the first overtime lifted 11th-ranked DePauw to a 2-1 win over 13th-ranked Lynchburg in the season opener for both teams at Wittenberg University. The victory was the Tigers' 19th straight in the regular season since DePauw's 3-2 defeat at Lynchburg last year.
After a scoreless first half, Chelsea Cutler gave DePauw a 1-0 lead on Addie Ball's assist at 37:01. The Hornets evened the score nearly six minutes later when Heather Dodge delivered an unassisted score.
DePauw held a 5-1 shots advantage in the overtime period before Stoner knocked in the game winner on Kate Jovanovic's assist.
The Tigers outshot Lynchburg, 22-8, with a 12-2 margin in shots on goal. DePauw also led in penalty corners, 14-4.
Maggie Steele totaled six saves in goal for DePauw with Jordan Seeley adding nine for the Hornets.
DePauw returns to Wittenberg tomorrow for a 4 p.m. meeting with Centre College.Back
