4-2 Win Caps Off #20 Tigers' Perfect Weekend

Greencastle, Ind.- After a hard-fought win over Hiram Saturday afternoon the 20th-ranked Tigers were back in action Sunday against Olivet College at Boswell Field. A pair of Julian Gonzalez goals led DePauw to a 4-2 victory over the Comets.
With the win the Tigers improved to 9-0 on the season, while Olivet dropped to 2-4-1.
Comet goalie Ryan Grashik was issued a red card and sent off just six minutes into the contest, forcing Olivet to play with 10 men for the majority of the game.
Gonzalez got the scoring started for DePauw when he knocked in a pass from E.J. Moore with 22:35 on the clock. The Tigers entered halftime with a 1-0 advantage.
The start of the second-half proved to be action packed as Tiger goalie Jake Pezzuto made two acrobatic saves just three minutes into the half. Olivet was able to tie the contest when Adam Wright’s crossing pass found the head of Jon Puente in the 50th-minute.
Andy Morrison put DePauw back on top when he scored on a pass from George Elliott with 54:39 on the clock. The Tigers would score two quick goals in the 59th-minute when Adrian Ables knocked in a pass from Mitch Reavis. Ables’s goal proved to be the game-winner.
Gonzalez added his second goal of the game just 21 seconds later as he connected on a pass from Alieu Musa. Gonzalez and Morrison both have six goals on the season, tied for the team lead.
Olivet became the first team to score multiple goals on the Tigers when Connor Plagens scored on the double assist from Michael Moscone and John Leutzinger in the 89th-minute.
DePauw outshot the Comets 12-6 and held a 4-2 edge on corner kicks. A physical contest, the teams combined for 36 total fouls including one red card and three yellow cards.
The Tigers are back in action Wednesday, September 25, when they travel to Anderson, Ind. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 pm.Back
