DePauw Extends Win Streak to Eight; Finishes First Half of NCAC Play at 7-0

Springfield, Ohio - DePauw completed the first half of North Coast Athletic Conference play with a perfect 7-0 record and improved to 9-3 on the season following a 4-0 win at Wittenberg. The visiting Tigers extended their win streak to eight and sent the hosts to a 5-7 overall recocrd and a 3-4 conference mark.
Micheline Figel gave DePauw a 1-0 lead at 21:57 on Laynie Thomas' assist and that score held up until halftime. Kate Jovanovic needed just 57 seconds of the second half to rattle the cage on a pass from Grace Fisher. Jovanovic made it 3-0 at 46:15 before Paige Henry scored just 1:22 later with an assist from Chelsea Cutler.
DePauw held a commanding 37-5 advantage in shots and 16-3 in corners. Maggie Steele recorded two saves in the shutout, while Sarah Brownell had 11 stops for Wittenberg and Laura Jansing five.
DePauw travels to Kenyon on Saturday, October 12, for a 4 p.m. contest against the Ladies.
