Tigers Roll Past Earlham; Improve to 13-4

Richmond, Ind. – A strong first half would be enough for the Tigers to knock off North Coast Athletic Conference opponent Earlham by a score of 10-0 Wednesday night.

The victory propels DePauw to 13-4 overall and 11-1 in the NCAC, while the Quakers dropped to 2-13 overall and 0-11 in the NCAC.

DePauw dominated on all fronts outshooting Earlham 23-5 in the opening half. Maggie Campbell and Laynie Thomas each netted two goals, while Paige Henry netted the fifth Tiger goal of the half. Chelsea Cutler added two assists.

The second half proved to be much of the same success for DePauw. Henry scored in just the second minute of the half and quickly added her third goal just four minutes later. Cutler made it 8-0 when she knocked in a pass from Micheline Figel seven minutes into the half. She scored her second goal when she drove home an unassisted goal four minutes later. Kate Jovanovic extended the Tiger lead to 10-0 when she scored an unassisted goal with 50:39 on the clock.

The Tigers held Earlham to just five shots in the game earning goalie Maggie Steele her ninth shutout of the year. Quaker goalie Helen Titcomb made 22 saves in a losing effort.

DePauw is back in action Saturday, October 26, when they travel to Ohio Wesleyan. This NCAC clash is scheduled to start at 11 a.m.
