Tigers Fall to Wittenberg; Finish Third in NCAC Tournament

Springfield, Ohio- DePauw moved to 26-6 on the season after finishing in third place in the North Coast Athletic Conference tournament. The Tigers lost their semifinal match to top-seeded Wittenberg 3-0 (25-19, 25-20, 33-31) before beating Denison 3-0 (25-19, 25-22, 25-23) in the third-place match.
In the Wittenberg match, Lauren Falotico led the Tigers with 14 kills and Mary Kate Etling added 12. Faith Rolwes assisted on 40 of the Tigers’ 45 kills. Keely McGrath had 16 digs and Tori Bowerman tallied 12 for DePauw. The Tigers battled Wittenberg to the bitter end sending the third set all the way to a 33-31 score.
Against Denison, it was Falotico again leading the Tigers with 14 kills, while Etling added 12 and Elisabeth Wilson tallied 11. Rolwes totaled 43 assists and McGrath led with 17 digs for the Tigers. DePauw, which had lost to Denison 3-0 (25-16, 25-19, 25-21) in the regular season, secured a third place finish in the NCAC tournament.
Falotico represented DePauw on the NCAC All-Tournament team.
The Tigers will learn of their NCAA postseason fate Monday at 11 a.m. during the selection show on NCAA.com.
