Top-ranked Tigers Remain Perfect after Win at Spalding
December 14, 2013
Louisville, Ky. - Top-ranked DePauw improved to 8-0 on the season and extended its win streak to 42 straight following a 79-53 win at Spalding. The Golden Eagles dropped to 1-5 with the loss.
The win also marked the Tigers' 61st consecutive regular season triumph and its 24th straight victory on an opposing team's home court.
Spalding led by four in the early stages of the game, but the Tigers started taking control late in the first half. A 20-3 run gave DePauw an 18-point lead and the guests to a 42-27 lead into the intermission. That would be as close as the Golden Eagles would get the rest of the way.
Abby Keller matched her career high from last Saturday with another 13-point performance, while Alex Gasaway also scored 13 and Savannah Trees 10. Alison Stephens paced DePauw with seven rebounds.
Kerstin Hayes led the way for Spalding with 10 points and Jessica Guy had 10 rebounds.
DePauw shot 50.8 percent for the game with Spalding connecting on 44.2 percent.
The Tigers return to the court on December 29-30 when they host the Amy Hasbrook Memorial Tournament.Back
