Courtney Fischer '07 Now Reporting for Pittsburgh's WTAE

August 10, 2013

"For many in the TV news business, the jump from city to city is guided by the head, and not the heart," begins a Pittsburgh Post-Gazette article. "Courtney Fischer, 28, hopes she can have the best of both worlds. In Pittsburgh less than two months, the Chicago native and 2007 DePauw University graduate has been doing freelance reporting for WTAE-TV."

Fischer came to the Steel City from Lexington, Kentucky, where she was an anchor/reporter at NBC affiliate WLEX-TV. "My fiance [Keith Schonberger] lives back here," she tells the newspaper. "We kind of realized this is a place we could be long term and we both love it here."dp newspaper

An English (writing) major at DePauw, she adds, "All my life, I thought I would just follow the job, and so this is the first time personal life took precedence over professional life. But I'm thrilled."
