Media Outlets Share News of Malala's Day at DePauw

"The youngest person awarded the Nobel Peace Prize spoke at DePauw University Monday about a life-changing experience she hopes inspires others to act," reports Indianapolis ABC affiliate WRTV tonight, hours after an Ubben Lecture on campus. Liz Adeola notes, "Thousands of people gathered to hear Malala Yousafzai speak, the woman who survived an attempted assassination by the Taliban in 2012 when the group tried to stop her and other girls from going to school."
The piece that aired during the station's 11 p.m. newscast includes comments from some of the approximately 5,000 people who attended the event in DePauw's Neal Fieldhouse. First-year student Daniela Chaparro is one, and said, "She's amazing. It's not very often that someone like her comes along and it's amazing that we get to experience (her) firsthand."
