April 28, 2014

Nicole Pence, a 2006 graduate of DePauw University, is joining Indianapolis Fox affiliate WXIN-TV to anchor the station's new 11 p.m. newscast.  The program, Fox 59 NewsPoint at 11, is scheduled to premiere June 30.

Pence's resume includes working as an anchor/reporter at WTHR in Indianapolis and as morning news anchor at WLEX in Lexington, Kentucky.

"Fox 59 also plans to roll out a 7 p.m. newscast in the fall," reports the Indianapolis Business Journal. "The additional programming will give Fox 59 66 hours of scheduled newscasts each week, the most of any station in the Indianapolis market, according to the broadcaster."

"Over the past several years, Fox 59 News has seen tremendous growth in terms of news hours and viewers,” said Paul Rennie, president of Fox 59 and sister station WTTV. “The addition of the Fox 59 News at 7 and NewsPoint at 11 is the next logical step in our expansion. We’re excited to bring viewers in central Indiana more options to watch news when and how they want it."
