Gretchen Cryer '57 Directing NYC Production of Open Hearts

Gretchen Cryer, a 1957 graduate of DePauw University, will direct Miriam Kulick's one-woman show, Open Hearts, which opens in New York City April 19 in the Studio Theatre at Theatre Row. According to Playbill, Cryer has been seen on Broadway in Little Me, 110 in the Shade and 1776. She also wrote the book and lyrics for Shelter."

Gretchen (Kiger) Cryer majored in English (literature) as an undergraduate. She and her DePauw classmate, Nancy Ford, composed the music and lyrics for shows including I'm Getting My Act Together and Taking It on the Road, The American Girls Revue and Anne of Green Gables.
