'Empire' set decorator Caroline Perzan on campus September 19

On September 19th, 2016, DePauw’s Department of Art and Art History will host Caroline Perzan, who will give a public lecture, The Art of ‘Empire’. Perzan, a renowned set designer in film and television, will discuss her path from a studio art major at the Art Institute in Chicago to a successful career in set design in Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York. Most recently, her work on ‘Empire’ showcases the art of established and emerging African American artists and artists of color through the selection, placement and story line engagement of their art.
Perzan was recently feature in the Chicago Tribune
Perzan is based in Chicago, where she operates C Perzan Designs, a firm that has contracts with Paramount Pictures, Universal Studios, Warner Bros Pictures, and Sony Studios. Her long list of credits include “CSI”, “Breaking Bad”, “The Blind Side”, and “Man of Steel”.
