Annual Candlelight Concert December 3

November 11, 2000, Greencastle, Ind. - The DePauw Festival Choirs and the DePauw Symphony Orchestra will be performing the annual DePauw Candlelight Concert, Sunday, December 3 at 7:30 p.m. in Kresge Auditorium in the DePauw Performing Arts Center on the DePauw University campus in Greencastle.
The event features seasonal music and an audience participation carol-sing lead by The DePauw Concert Choir and 16-voice ensemble The Century Singers. Also included on the program is the DePauw Symphony performing "Concerto for Two Trumpets" by Antonio Vivaldi, excerpts from The Nutcracker Ballet by Tchaikowsky and "The Chanukah Suite" arranged by Rosanne Soifer and Steven Danenberg. The Festival Choirs and the Orchestra together will perform Beethoven's "Gloria" from the Mass in C.
Student vocal soloists for the Beethoven will be Jenny Rebecca Winans, soprano; April Scholten, mezzo-soprano; Todd Rainer, tenor; and John Ohle, bass. Also on the program will be portions of Benjamin Britten's "Ceremony of Carols" performed by the DePauw Women's Choir, and will feature faculty harpist, Harriet Thompson Moore.
Stanley Irwin, director of DePauw Choirs and Orcenith Smith, music director of DePauw Orchestras will conduct.
