Prof. Barbara Whitehead Selected for Seminar in Czech Republic

December 31, 2000, Greencastle, Ind. - Barbara J. Whitehead, associate professor of history at DePauw University in Greencastle, Ind., has been accepted to attend the interdisciplinary Global Partners Project Faculty Development Seminar in Olomouc, Czech Republic. The seminar, "The Human and Physical Environment of Central Europe" will take place in June, 2001.

Dr. Whitehead (A.B. History, cum laude, Harvard University,1983; M.A., History, Bryn Mawr College, 1985; Ph.D., History, Bryn Mawr College, 1992) is developing a new course in Central European history at DePauw, and will serve as program director for the Associated Colleges of the Midwest/Great Lakes Colleges Association Central European Studies Program beginning in the fall of 2001.

The Global Partners Project is a collaborative venture of the Associated Colleges of the Midwest, Associated Colleges of the South and Great Lakes College Association, Inc. The seminar is funded by the Mellon Foundation.
