Building a Better Future the Focus of Wednesday DePauw Speech

East College (South)March 19, 2001, Greencastle, Ind. - The Hartman Center for Civic Education and Leadership at DePauw University will host Charles Carter Via on Wednesday, March 21, 2001. Via is the co-founder and executive director of Bridges to Community, Inc., a non-profit organization focusing on community development in Nicaragua, Kenya, and Nepal. Via's presentation is entitled "Initiation, Vocation, and Service: The Only Way to a Better Future.” He will be speaking at 7 p.m. in Watson Forum in the Eugene C. Pulliam Center for Contemporary Media on the DePauw campus.

Charles Carter Via has formerly served as the chairman of the Indiana State Parole Board and as executive director of the Flanner House of Indianapolis. He is an ordained Presbyterian minister who graduated from Princetonectower dusk Theological Seminary in June of 1987.
