Jazz Up Your Monday: Free Concert to Feature Broadway Veteran

November 16, 2001, Greencastle, Ind. - Everyone is invited to come and celebrate a night of jazz with the DePauw University School of Music on Monday, November 19, at 7:30 p.m. when the DePauw Jazz Ensemble and three jazz combos perform a free concert in Kresge Auditorium.

Performing with the jazz ensemble will be guest artist, Jeff Conrad. Mr. Conrad is a seasoned musician, having spent twenty years on the road touring with a variety of acts including Ray Charles, The Temptations and Barry Manilow. Musical Note.jpgConrad has also been a member of the official Broadway touring company of Cats, and was musical director for the Broadway touring company of Dreamgirls.

The music of the evening will include pieces by Herbie Hancock, Freddie Hubbard, Frank Loesser, Hoagy Carmichael, and Duke Pearson.
