Hear Music of Local Students at ISSMA Regionals Jan. 26 & Feb. 2

January 21, 2002

January 21, 2002, Greencastle, Ind. - Over the next two Saturdays (January 26 and February 2), DePauw University will host the regional Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA) "Solo & Ensemble Festivals." Music students from Putnam and Montgomery county middle and high schools will visit campus to participate in more than 900 solo and small ensemble musical events.

ISSMA judges will listen to these students in individual performance rooms, offering comments to the performers and their teachers. Parents and friends are invited to attend the performances, which will be held in two DePauw facilities: the Performing Arts Center and the Memorial Student Union Building. Vocectower duskal and piano students will perform on January 26, while instrumental students (woodwind, brass, percussion, strings) will take part in the February 2 festival.
